We enjoyed our experience at Annie's! The kids and adults gave a thumbs up to the food. The staff was friendly and the place clean.

We stayed at the Best Western next door to Annie's and walked over after a long day of driving. Annie's was pretty empty (not the best sign on a Friday evening), and we were seated promptly and asked for our beverage choice.

The table wasn't particularly clean, nor was the silverware, which came wrapped in a cheap, thin paper napkin. There are overhead lamps in the dining area, with at least one having a burned out bulb...and another without its glass shade...and 2 wires hanging down.

Wine and beer are reasonably priced; the food a bit high. You can get breakfast all day, or there are burgers, sandwiches, salads, or complete dinners available (including Thanksgiving turkey). We opted for sandwiches and chose a double club and a Milo (fried chicken tender with bacon, swiss, fried onions and peppers). Both came with choice of a few sides; we chose fries. Mayo was served in packets on the side.

My husband said the club sandwich was mediocre at best. My Milo sandwich would have been pretty good if there were more than a few tiny pieces of onion and peppers to counter the overcooked and dry chicken. The fries were perfectly done and the portion size very good.

Still, the bottom line of any review might answer the question "would we return?" For us, it would be no.

Stopped here on my road trip for a quick bite. I was happy to see gluten free burger buns and gluten free bread on the menu for a small up charge. Ordered a sandwich with fries. Now, you would think it's a good idea to let a customer know the fries are battered with flour if they ordered gluten free bread, but that wasn't the case here. I've thrown up three times in the parking lot so far, and I have to drive another 6 hours tonight. Hopefully I don't puke on myself while driving on the freeway.

I get it, gluten free stuff can be confusing to someone who doesn't have to eat it, but this is an allergy and should be handled properly. You wouldn't shrug your shoulders and think "no biggie" if you served someone nuts who has a peanut allergy. I'm sick to my stomach right now and the gluten is ripping apart my insides.

It gets two stars because the sandwich was decent and filling. Wish I hadn't been poisoned. Thanks!

While driving through on I-40 last Saturday a week ago, I arrived at Santa Rosa at about lunch time so I thought it would be a good place to stop and eat. For several miles before on the interstate, I had seen tourism signs touting the town as an attraction with several restaurants and shops along the historic Route 66. Looking on Yelp for restaurants it  didn't seem to show many quality options. In fact, most of the eateries seemed to be in the 2-3 star range with this one being the highest rated at 3.5.

It was around 12:30 when I walked in and there were only a few diners inside eating. I was greeted by the hostess who immediately took me to my table. Looking at the menu, I decided on the ground round steak meal with 2 sides and I chose mashed potatoes and grilled veggies for $13. However it took about 10 minutes for my waitress to show up to take my order. She was a young high school aged girl that obviously wasn't trained very well and didn't care.

My food arrived about 10 minutes after she took my order. The meat on the plate was their standard hamburger patty (1/3 lb.) with some onions and gravy on top. The quality of this meal taste wise was like my waitress, ho hum. It was bland and I wished I had not only ordered something else but I really wished I had gone to another restaurant. When finished, she didn't come back to give me my check so I went to the hostess/cashier area to pay. That's when she showed up to take my payment.

I give a 2 here because I have had much better. It was a waste of my time and money.

Food was edible-more like cafeteria food. My burger was definitely a frozen patty-dry and over cooked. Service was ok at first but once food was on the table they all disappeared. We had to get up and go find someone to bring us our check. The servers were all sitting in another area playing on their phones.
The 50s music was loud and got to be annoying after a bit too.
